About

I have been creating things for as long as I can remember; drawing horses, combing through piles of coloring books, always begging my mom for a new craft. When I was 18, my Aunt Sue, who is also a painter, bought me my first set of oil paints and gave me a proper lesson. We painted a yellow rose, a simple yet defining moment in my life. In college I pursued other avenues, math, teaching, music, until finally giving my heart to painting. I was raised in Arizona, then Minnesota, and received my B.S. in Art Education from North Dakota State University in 2017. I began my practice in oil paints and have never looked back. I work from pictures that I have taken on my adventures, but feel most alive painting on location.

I am endlessly inspired by landscapes. Spending time outside and painting are intertwined and I have found that I cannot have one without the other. It is a practice that is both cathartic and zealous. Both an obsession and therapeutic. It is a means to process the human longings and questions, but ultimately, it is a celebration of God’s beauty and goodness. As someone who doesn’t have many words, it is how I communicate.

My artwork explores themes of faith and the human experience through contemporary landscapes. May we find beauty in the in-between moments, pause in the tension between longing and presence. Never forsaking our sense of wonder.

My husband Joe and I live and work in Central Oregon with our border collie, Finn and ducks.
